happen to read DNA news paper for the first time today (13 11 2012). The head line
you have put MARATHA KHAPS WANT GIRLS TO BARE THEIR PRETTY FRACES" is
very misleading to say the least.

One thing, as a Reader of the News paper, I wish to inform you as to what I expect, as the "product" you are selling to us is "news" paper and not "opinion" paper or "misquote" paper.
After carefully reading your piece of writing I ultimately find that certain people or social organizations in parts of two districts in Maharashtra issued an advisory to people especially young girls to desist from the habit of using a scarf to cover up their faces.
At no place they mention to bare their faces! But how you can write that, misquoting and twisting the news?
If in an area, depending upon the requirement in that area, elderly people give some advice to young people with regard to behavior, how it becomes a bad thing? In your entire writing, the tone is very much sarcastic about the advisory issued by elders. You have no right to express your sarcasm when you are reporting "news", if at all you think that you are reporting news. If you wish to express your opinion for the benefit of those who care to read such stuff, write an article and publish in the same news paper as an "Article" but do not thrust your opinions on the readers as "News". This is not press freedom but only abusing the freedom given to the Press.
I neither support nor criticize the advisory given by the elders in Jalgaon and Nashik Districts. But I strongly object to the way you are trying to portray the news item, completely angling your writing to create opinions against such advisory. Your place is only to report news and not angling. Of course, now a days, there are few Reporters and Journalists who know the difference between writing dispassionately and writing with something in mind, giving a twist to the news to suit their beliefs and isms.
Kindly note that readers do have their own thinking powers and do not require you to help them to form their opinions. Please try to report news as news and not in any manner.

పైనున్న వార్త ఆపైన నేను ఇచ్చిన ఈ మెయిల్ చూసినాక విషయం అర్ధం అయ్యి ఉంటుంది. వార్తా పత్రికల్లో, ముందుగా చదువరులు చదవాలనుకునేది "వార్త" కాని రిపోర్టరు "అభిప్రాయం" కాదు. ఆ పత్రిక యెక్క అభిప్రాయాలు వగైరా ఉంటే సంపాదకీయం ఉండనే ఉన్నది. ప్రతి రిపోర్టరూ తానూ సంపాయించిన వార్తా వ్రాస్తూ తన అభిప్రాయాన్ని కూడా అక్కడే ఇరికేస్తే అది వార్త అవదు. పైనున్న ప్రెస్ కట్టింగ్, వార్తగా చెలామణీ అవుతూ, ఆ పత్రిక పతాక శీర్షికగా ఆ పత్రిక మొదటి పేజీలో ఉన్నది.
మీడియా యొక్క కనీస ధర్మం జరిగిన వార్తలను చదువరులకు తెలియచేయటం. వార్త వ్రాస్తూనే, ఆ వార్తలో జరిగినది తప్పు రైటు అని చెప్పటం అనేది విశ్లేషణ కిందకు వస్తుంది కాని, వార్తా కాజాలదు. వార్త చదివిన తరువాత చదివిన పాఠకుడు తనకు తానుగా ఆలోచించి ఆ వార్త గురించి, అటువంటి సంఘటన జరగటానికి కారణాలు, ఆ సంఘటన వల్ల ఉత్పన్నమయ్యే ప్రమాదాలు కాని లాభాలు కాని బేరీజువేసుకుంటాడు. ఆ మాత్రం తెలివి తేటలు పేపరు చదివే ప్రతివాళ్ళకు ఉంటాయి. కాని మీడియా వాళ్ళ దృష్టిలో వాళ్ళ పేపరు చదివే వాళ్ళకు స్వంత తెలివితేటలు లేవనీ, మీడియానే సర్వసమర్ధమైనది కనుక ఆ వార్తను తాము మంచి అనుకున్న వేపునుంచే చెప్పటం అనే "చెడు అలవాటు" దాదాపుగా రెండు మూడు దశాబ్దాలుగా కొనసాగుతున్నది. అలా తమ అభిప్రాయాలను చదువరులమీద రుద్దే చెడు సాప్రదాయానికి అడ్డు వెయ్యాల్సినది సంపాదకులు. కాని ఇవ్వాల్టి రిపోర్టరే రేపటి సంపాదకుడు కదా. ఇలా పెరిగి పెద్దైన రిపోర్టరు, సంపాదకుడు అయినప్పుడు (ఒకవేళ అయితే) అంతవరకూ తానూ ఏర్పరుచుకున్న మూసలోనే ఉంటాడు కాని, "సంపాదక" బాధ్యత అనేది ఒకటి కొత్తగా ఉంటుంది అనే విషయం తెలిసే అవకాశం లేదని నా భావన.
ఇవ్వాళ (13 11 2012) దీపావళి కాబట్టి ఆ పత్రికాఫీసుకు శలవ అయ్యి ఉంటుంది. కాబట్టి ఆ విలేఖరి నా మెయిలు చూసుకుని ఉండక పోవచ్చనే అనుకుంటున్నాను. ఆయన నా మెయిలు చూసి స్పందిస్తే మళ్ళీ మీతో పంచుకుంటాను.
